“The FREEDOM project meeting in Rome marked a key moment in the collaboration between Italy, France and Greece” |

The FREEDOM Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, aims to enhance digital literacy among senior citizens by addressing misinformation, including fake news and deepfakes. The project involves three partners: Le Tre Ghinee (Italy), SOLUTION: Solidarité & Inclusion (France), and Kainotomia (Greece).
On November 6, 2024, the partners met in Rome to plan activities for January to June 2025. Key decisions included:
– Website Development: The project’s website, freedomproject.eu, is currently under development and is set to launch by December 22, 2024. The website will be tested by 30 learners over the age of 65, including individuals with disabilities, during the planned workshops and seminars.
– 3 Facebook groups dedicated to seniors will play a vital role in fostering community engagement, sharing educational content, and collecting feedback.
Next Steps
– The next online meeting is scheduled for December 13, 2024, where partners will continue refining their strategies and monitoring progress on the outlined activities.
– Educational Activities: Each partner will conduct two seminars and two workshops, each lasting two hours and accommodating 12 participants aged over 65.
– The seminars will focus on theoretical aspects of misinformation, while the workshops will adopt a non-formal approach to engage participants in practical activities.
– Content Framework: SOLUTION will develop a framework outlining the general content for the seminars, allowing partners to use their existing materials. Additionally, SOLUTION will create an activity sheet for the workshops, which partners must complete with at least one activity to be included in a Handbook.
– Video Production: Kainotomia will oversee the production of educational videos that will serve as foundational resources for the seminars and workshops. These videos will be translated into multiple languages and published on a YouTube channel managed by Tre Ghinee.
The FREEDOM project meeting in Rome helped align strategies to fight misinformation among European seniors.
